Joyful Heart in the News
Be Fearless, Men
It is all too often unacknowledged that men, too, are victims of sexual and physical abuse and assault. In fact, statistics from the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault show that 10 percent of all sexual assault victims in the U.S. are male and that number, unfortunately, is climbing.
Joyful Heart Foundation wants to engage men, in the spirit of Father’s Day, as crucial participants and survivors themselves in the effort to address, prevent, and one day end sexual violence, domestic violence, and child abuse. That’s why the non-profit organization teamed up with leading jeweler Me&Ro to offer the “FEARLESSNESS” tube bracelet for men.
This is the first item the Joyful Heart Foundation has designed exclusively for and in support of men, and is part of their “Engaging Men” initiative. Me&Ro’s “Fearlessness” tube bracelet serves as a reminder that we all play a role in ending sexual assault and domestic violence – and 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of these bracelets directly benefit Joyful Heart.
Founded in 2004 by actress and advocate Mariska Hargitay, the mission of the Joyful Heart Foundation is to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, and to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues.
