Actress Hargitay, Prosecutor Worthy discuss rape kit project

DETROIT -- Actress Mariska Hargitay joined Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy Monday to discuss proposed legislation that would speed up sexual assault kit testing.

Actress Mariska Hargitay speaks on the rape kit backlog and Joyful Heart's collaborative efforts with Prosecutor Kym Worthy's Office to end the backlog in Detroit.

Hargitay stars on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." She also is founder and president of the Joyful Heart Foundation. The foundation works with police and prosecutors on eliminating the backlog of testing for sexual assault kits...
