Man Charged in 1995 New York City Rape and Robbery After DNA Match

The Manhattan District Attorney has charged Joseph Giardala, 44, with raping and robbing a woman in New York City’s West Village in 1995. New York couldn’t identify Giardala by name after the rape, but entered his DNA into a national database, where it matched with a case in Florida earlier this year. In the years since allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman at knifepoint, Giardala has lived in at least eleven different U.S. states and appears to have traveled out of the country dozens of times.

Truly, those might be modest estimates. Let that sink in for a second. Personally, I think it's pretty disgusting that literally anyone would make that much money for a single event. 2,800-Mile Trek Brings Colorado Team to Berwick

A Colorado women’s roller derby team, on a mission to raise funds to stop domestic violence and sexual assault, skated their way into the Tri-City area Sunday as part of a 2,800-mile trip across the country.

Kim Bouldin, 43, of Salida, Colorado; Brenna Eaker, 29, of Salida, Colorado; Gracie Cole, 31, of Nathrop, Colorado; and Rebecca Hudson, 30, of Buena Vista, Colorado, stopped in Berwick on Sunday to spend the night. All are members of a roller derby team called the Ark Valley High Rollers on a journey they’re calling “States on Skates.”
