Never was the beauty and magic of our Hawai‘i community more evident that on the evening of September 1st, when we celebrated Joyful Heart’s inaugural Hawai‘i gala, an event we called our “Joyful Mele.” It was the culmination of a year’s worth of planning and the fulfillment of an inspired dream that our Founder and President, Mariska Hargitay, had eight years ago.
On Wednesday evening, May 9, 2012, the Joyful Heart Foundation staff, Board of Directors and hundreds of supporters gathered in downtown New York for the Fifth Annual Joyful Revolution Gala. And joyful it was. From the moment guests stepped into the vast space of Cipriani Wall Street from the dreary rain, joy was everywhere.
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, the Joyful Heart Foundation hosted our very first Los Angeles fundraising event, Joy Rocks, at the home of all things rock, the House of Blues. We gathered to honor the men who are playing such an important role in the movement to end sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse and to celebrate the work of our LA community.
On May 17, 2011, hundreds of supporters of the Joyful Heart Foundation gathered for an evening of celebration, of hope and of spirit at the Fourth Annual Joyful Heart Gala at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. At this year’s Gala, we asked the question “How Will You Join the Joyful Revolution?”
The Joyful Revolution has gained momentum, and the 2010 Joyful Heart Gala was a testament to the promise, growth and evolution of how a community can respond to the issues of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
This year's event was held at Terminal 5, one of New York City's most exciting new venues, and the perfect setting for the launch of the Joyful Revolution.
Hosted by Joyful Heart Founder & President Mariska Hargitay and long time friend and Joyful Heart supporter Hilary Swank, the evening started with a cocktail party and red carpet arrivals including Chris Meloni, Stephanie March & Bobby Flay, Jill Hennessy, Marcia Gay Harden, Joely Fisher and Kim Raver to name a few.
