Joyful LANVIN Southampton Fall Preview

Tuesday, 23 July 2013
Southampton, NY

Following the success of our February Los Angeles event with LANVIN, Joyful Heart and the couture fashion house partnered again in July for an event in the Hamptons.

Joyful Heart board member Carrie Shumway graciously opened her beautiful home in Southampton, NY, and the adjoining beach provided the perfect setting for a social afternoon. Nearly 100 guests gathered from both the east and west coasts to support and learn more about Joyful Heart’s transformative work.  The event was hosted by Nina Davidson, Susan Dunlevy, Lise Evans, Mariska Hargitay, Heather Mnuchin, Mary Kathryn Navab, Sukey Novogratz, Carrie Shumway, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Adelina Wong Ettelson and Caryn Zucker.

As guests arrived, they entered a pop-up LANVIN “boutique” to preview the fall 2013 collection shown in its entirety for the first time. Featuring everything from ready-to-wear to outerwear to accessories, the Hamptons venue was transformed into a Paris runway. In addition to a generous $10,000 donation to Joyful Heart, LANVIN also committed to donating 10% of sales from the day, which gave guests an even more joyful reason to shop.

Following the collection preview, guests joined Joyful Heart’s Founder & President, Mariska Hargitay, for a seated luncheon beautifully situated outdoors to enjoy the summer sun and beach breeze. During the luncheon, Peter Hermann, a founding board member, spoke about Joyful Heart’s work and mission to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. Peter spoke about our current initiatives and programs and highlighted the collaborative NO MORE movement and the launch of our NO MORE PSA campaign, which Joyful Heart will be premiering this fall.  Mariska also took a few moments to speak about her vision for Joyful Heart and the powerful impact that we have had thanks to our supporters, including the guests of the event and LANVIN.  Cecile Andrau, LANVIN’s Executive Vice President, concluded the luncheon by sharing a few words about the evolution of this partnership with Joyful Heart and their continued commitment to our work in the years to come.

Guests continued to mingle and shop after the luncheon while they enjoyed mini vanilla milkshakes and macaroons. As with our February event in LA, our time with LANVIN was viewed as nothing short of spectacular and we look forward to a continued and growing partnership as we work together to shed light on these issues in a joyful—and fashionable—way.
