Saying Mahalo with Tori Richard
To celebrate our 10th Anniversary and the say thank you to some of the navigators who have made our journey possible, Joyful Heart and Tori Richard was honored to have Tori Richard host a private dinner with Nancy and Herb Conley, who opened their home to nearly 100 guests. The intimate evening provided a time for us to connect to our story, our work and each other before our larger Joyful Mele event—and to celebrate the generosity and spirit of those who have made our work possible.
Before arriving, all guests were invited to stop by the Tori Richard Ala Moana store to be outfitted in their favorite vintage Tori Richard apparel for the occasion. As guests arrived at the beautiful Conley home—many in beautifully distinctive prints from Tori Richards’ archives—they made their way to the veranda overlooking the tranquil Nu‘uanu Stream, where they enjoyed pupu and cocktails.
Guests then made their way to the front lawn where Herb welcomed everyone. Josh Feldman, CEO of Tori Richard then toasted to Joyful Heart’s 10 years and to our future vision of ending violence and abuse in the state and nationally. After dinner and photos, Nalani Holliday, Co-Chair of the Hawai‘i Hearts and owner of local botique Red Pineapple, presented Mariska with a beautiful print by local artist Nick Kuchar (Everything Is Jake) commissioned for the occasion of our 10th anniversary.
It was a beautiful and intimate evening—the perfect beginning to an incredible weekend celebrating our Joyful Mele in our birthplace, Hawai‘i.
