Wellness Wednesday: Fast Fix: Repair Your Hair

I eat avocados almost every day, so I occasionally find myself with an overripe one on my hands. Instead of letting them go to waste, I've been mixing up this mask for my hair and loving it! Try it for yourself and let me know what you think.

xoxo,

Sukey

Has winter already taken a toll on your hair? Between dry indoor heat, cold wind and unforgiving blow dryers, this season can suck the moisture right out of your strands—and the money right out of your pocketbook, if you turn to expensive deep conditioning treatments.

Save your money and skip the toxins by mixing up your own moisture-infusing hair mask with ingredients you probably already have on hand. Avocados make more than just great guac; they've got a high fat content and contain vitamin E, both of which are incredibly hydrating. Mix it with our favorite natural sweetener and you've got the cheap and easy dynamic duo of deep conditioning.

Avocado-Honey Hair Mask

  • Blend or mash the following until creamy: 1 ripe avocado, 1 tablespoon of honey (raw is ideal) and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Massage the mixture through your hair thoroughly. Wrap your hair in a hot towel and let the treatment soak in for around 20 minutes.
  • Rinse and shampoo as usual.

Use this mask weekly through the winter to ditch dry hair, naturally.
