Jamba Juice and the Hawai'i Children's Trust join together to support One Strong 'Ohana

Fruitful partnership helps raise thousands of dollars to support One Strong ‘Ohana’s mission to build stronger families throughout Hawai‘i

The sweet reward of a three-month promotion between Jamba Juice Hawai‘i and the Hawai‘i Children’s Trust Fund has raised more than $6,700 for the trust fund’s One Strong ‘Ohana campaign. From January through March of this year, Jamba Juice Hawai‘i donated 25 cents from every Fit ‘n Fruitful smoothie sold.

“Jamba Juice Hawai‘i is honored to be a partner of the One Strong ‘Ohana campaign and help raise awareness for this important issue affecting our communities,” said Dean McPhail, CEO of Jamba Juice Hawai‘i. “Over the three month promotion more than 25,000 smoothies were sold, helping to improve the health and well-being of Hawai‘i’s children.”

“We are incredibly grateful to the Jamba Juice Hawai‘i ‘ohana and their help blending education and community outreach to make this promotion a success,” said Marty Oliphant, chair of the Hawai‘i Children’s Trust Fund’s advisory committee. “It can be something as simple as taking your friend’s keiki out for a smoothie or just asking how their week is going – but everyone can do something to build one strong ‘ohana.”

"Jamba Juice has truly demonstrated their commitment to keiki and families throughout the state, and by so doing they have become part of our ‘ohana. We are so fortunate to have them as a partner in this effort,” said Kata Issari, Hawai‘i Regional Director of the Joyful Heart Foundation.

April was National Child Abuse Prevention Month – a month dedicated to promoting activities that build stronger families and protect children. As part of a collaboration between the Hawai‘i Children’s Trust Fund and the Joyful Heart Foundation, the One Strong ‘Ohana campaign strives to spread the message that child abuse and neglect are preventable. Simple steps such as reaching out and strengthening emotional relationships among families, friends and communities can reduce the likelihood of child abuse. One Strong ‘Ohana is rooted in the belief that prevention of child abuse and neglect is a community responsibility, and everyone must work together to create a safe environment for Hawai‘i’s youth.
