Joyful Heart Foundation and LANVIN Event

A gorgeous, sunny day—the kind that exist only in southern California—set the stage for the LANVIN collection preview and luncheon to benefit the Joyful Heart Foundation and to toast Mariska’s birthday. The event was hosted by the LA Committee along with Jenny Belushi, Helen Kinnear, Crystal Lourd, Heather Mnuchin and Noelle Wolf and took place on February 1^st at Heather’s home of in Los Angeles. This collection preview and luncheon provided a wonderful opportunity to bring together some of the LA’s most influential women and share the tremendous importance of Joyful Heart’s work and how the vision of one woman—Mariska—has transformed the lives of so many women and children. 

As the 150 guests arrived for event, they wandered through a special LANVIN “boutique” where they previewed the latest designs from the runways of Paris.  Gorgeous dresses, purses, shoes and jewelry were all on display for orders.  In addition to a $10,000 donation in honor of Mariska’s birthday, LANVIN committed to donate 10% of all proceeds from the event to Joyful Heart so the continuous—and strong—flow of shoppers throughout the day proved to be very exciting. 

However, fashion was only a small part of the afternoon.  The event showcased Joyful Heart’s vital work to bring an end to sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, and the need to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues.  During the luncheon portion of the event, guests were moved to tears as LA Committee Co-Chairs—Jill Eisenstadt-Chayet and Julie Rowen—and Mariska described Joyful Heart’s programs and the impact on survivors.  Tom Nunan concluded the luncheon with a toast to celebrate Mariska’s birthday, which was followed up by a celebratory birthday cake. Following the luncheon, the guests moved back to the LANVIN boutique and continued to shop for the rest of the afternoon. 

Alexandra von Furstenberg, Lori Loughlin, Kelly Meyer and Shanna Brooks were amongst the guests in attendance, many of which were introduced to Joyful Heart for the first time. 

The day was viewed as such a success by the hosts, LANVIN and Joyful Heart that another one is scheduled for the summer of 2013 in the Hamptons, where a similar event will be hosted at a private residence to benefit Joyful Heart and to preview Lanvin's Fall 2013 Collection.
