Still Not Asking For It and The Martlet Tattoo Support Joyful Heart with Fundraiser
Survivors and supporters excitedly lined up outside The Martlet Tattoo Parlor in Hollywood, California on May 13 to attend an all-day flash tattoo fundraiser to support Joyful Heart. The event organizer, Still Not Asking For It (SNAFI), promotes awareness and discussions of sexual assault and violence in our community and to say it is unacceptable.
Attendees selected inspirational tattoos and perused an array of bold “No Means No” patches and comfortable SNAFI tanks and shirts. For the past three years, SNAFI has brought together talented tattoo artists from cities across the United States to donate their time and services to give uplifting tattoos, promote healing from sexual violence, and raise funds for social causes in Brooklyn, New York and Salt Lake City, Utah.
This is the second time that SNAFI has graciously chosen to donate all event proceeds to support Joyful Heart’s work to transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. Attendees received beautiful tattoos from Ashley Love, Bryce Oprandi, Travis Furton, Aron Dubois, Justin Klegka, Andy Canino, Luis Flores, CJ Fishburn, and Kyle Crosley. Special thanks to Jessica Pilar and Ashley Love from SNAFI for organizing this moving and empowering event, and the Martlet Tattoo Parlor for providing the space and hosting the fundraiser.
