The World Adult Kickball Association in NYC is a social organization that chooses a non-profit organization for which we raise funds each season. For the past few years, the Joyful Heart Foundation has been unanimously voted as the cause to which we dedicate our efforts.

My English teacher gave my class a paper to write: the assignment was to write about something in the world we wanted to change, and then do it. I wrote about ending sexual violence and domestic abuse. Then I got some friends together and organized a fundraiser for Joyful Heart. By the end of the fundraiser, my team and I raised over ten thousand dollars.

While most people aspire to be famous for the fame and fortune, Jamie Marie Hannigan aspires to be famous for the positive impact she will leave on the world. "I just want to help people, that's all", she says.
