Wellness Wednesday: 10 Minutes to Tune In

This fall, I've been trying to take 10 minutes each morning to start my day on the right foot. Join me and all of us at The Well Daily!

You know that cliché about life being a gift? Well, we buy it. Every new waking is another chance to appreciate and use our lives, so we're trying to recognize that potential by taking 10 minutes each morning to get ready for greatness. With us?
- Minutes 1-2: Be Present. When you wake up, chill in bed for a minute, just breathing in and out. Observing and experiencing your breath is the easiest way to call yourself to the present moment.
- Minutes 3-5: Set an Intention. Before you even get out of bed, set today's intention and commit. Run through your day mentally and choose 3 moments in which you can really show up for yourself or someone else—then follow through.
- Minutes 6-8: Get Inspired. Tune into whatever it is that sparks your creative thinking. Whether it's a poem, a passage from your favorite novel or that song that feels like it was written for you, use it as a means of opening yourself up to whatever lies before you.
- Minutes 9-10: Be Accomplished. How you do anything is how you do everything. Go into your day with a sense of accomplishment by making your bed. Sounds silly, but crossing this simple task off your to-do list brings you that much closer to the really great things you're going to do.
