Information We Collect And How We Use It
You can view many portions of our website without actively providing us with your personal information. However, like most websites, we automatically collect certain information from your computer or mobile device by automated means when you visit our websites, such as information about your computer or device, your IP address, software and hardware attributes, usage data and the information that you searched (“Automatically Collected Data”). We store Automatically Collected Data in log files on our servers (which may be hosted by a third party) each time you visit our sites. We use Automatically Collected Data to improve our services, assess analytics and trends, and maintain the stability of our hosting environment.
When you make a donation online, all transaction card and financial account information processing and security is handled by a third party payment processor as described in more detail in the “Donations” section below.

Information Shared With Your Consent. We may share information with third parties if we have received your consent to do so. For example, when you indicate that you are making a donation on someone’s behalf and provide us with their contact information so that we can notify them of your generosity.
Third-Party Service Providers. We rely on third parties to provide various services, such as transactions card processing, sign-up forms, advocacy actions, infrastructure hosting, performance monitoring, site maintenance and website analytics, and we may share information with these service providers to enable them to perform the services.
Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale or bankruptcy, your personal information may be transferred to third parties.
Information Disclosed For Other Purposes. We may disclose your information at our sole discretion:
- to comply with the law, including responding to any legal or governmental order, request or requirement, such as a subpoena;
- to protect the rights, safety and property of JHF, our volunteers and the public;
- to help with detecting, preventing, or resolving fraud or other security or technical issues and risks; or
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards for our websites designed to protect against loss, misuse or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of the information we collect through our website. However, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of your information.
JHF is a United States not-for-profit corporation. We do not have any offices or conduct business outside of the United States. All information that we collect is processed in the United States. By using this website and its features or otherwise supplying your information to us, you consent to the processing of such information in the United States.
Our website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not submit your personal information to us. If you discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do Not Track
We do not track users over time or across third-party websites to provide targeted advertising and therefore do not respond to Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals.
Updating or Changing Your Personal Information
